As the year gets fully underway, I want to extend my congratulations to our 2025 award winners (shown below) and express my gratitude to every member of our Network. Your support and dedication to HMI and our clients throughout the past year has been exceptional.

Congratulations also go out to HMI's own Tom Pope, who was just elected to the ISA Southern Chapter board of directors. Tom has meant a lot to HMI and our Authorized Members over the years. It’s great to see him recognized by the industry, as well. Great job Tom!

Looking ahead, this year promises to be a transformational year for HMI and the benefits we provide our AMs.

EXPANDING OPPORTUNITIES

As you know, HMI was acquired by Alpine Intel last fall. Alpine is currently onboarding numerous new insurance carrier programs that will drive significantly higher volumes of emergency tree removal and consulting assignments to our Network. This expansion represents a substantial opportunity for our members to grow their businesses alongside HMI's broadening footprint in the industry.

TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGES

Alpine Intel is a leader is leveraging technology to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scale in all of their claim support programs. Our group is already working with their tech team to improve HMI's systems in ways that will deliver meaningful benefits to your operations:

  1. Our new automated initial assignment process will revolutionize how we connect you with new referrals. The system will contact homeowners directly—even during CAT events and qualify each assignment. New assignments will be sent via email, or text, based on your preference and you will be able to accept or reject assignments with a single click, making each assignment immediately downloadable to your HMI Connects app. The system will automatically rotate new assignments in each market, speeding the acceptance process and ensuring an equal distribution of leads in each market.
  2. Additionally, we are upgrading all of HMI's systems to cutting-edge platforms designed to improve performance and drive efficiency as AI and other innovations continue to advance. The first release may even include voice-to-text functionality for job costing details in our mobile app!

PROVING OUR VALUE IN THE FIELD

This year is already off to a strong start. The recent ice storm that impacted the South provided a clear demonstration of the HMI advantage. We deployed several members into the Nashville market to complement our local resources, and the results speak volumes: while many unaffiliated companies deploying to the area reported disappointing outcomes, HMI's Network received a high volume of quality leads and closed an exceptionally high percentage of them, close to 70%! The value of aligning with a formal, well-respected program has never been more evident. My sincere thanks to all companies that deployed to support this effort!

LOOKING FORWARD

I know this has been a brutal winter for most of the country. Even here in North Carolina, we’ve experienced what I call a “proper winter”—and having lived in both Minneapolis and Chicago, I am qualified to make that assessment. As we all look forward to spring and the opportunities it brings, I am confident that HMI will be an increasingly valuable contributor to your company's success.
